Sculpt & Study Collab with Kulak Ceramic
Our 8-day program with Kulak Ceramic runs Monday through Thursday from 4 to 6 pm (2024/2025 After School Camp Programming COMING SOON)
In this program, students will be given 5 lbs of porcelain clay to create a standing sculpture while being guided through slab roll and hand-building techniques. Students will learn how to refine sculpts with clay tools and slip. Students will then study perspective by breaking the sculpture into technical drawings using orthographic projection and axonometric line drawings. Students will then build a still-life drawing “studio” out of cardboard and learn about creating dimension with light and shadow by drawing a still-life of their sculpture. Following the still life, students will create a color-mixing guide and use non-toxic underglaze to glaze their sculpture! Work will be ready for pick up one week after camp is over ๐ฟ
Students will spend a total of four days in each studio!
Program is 850$. A sibling discount of 10% is available at checkout with code “sblng10” ๐
Workshops will take place Monday-Thursday 4 pm-6 pm!
- Day 1: At Kulak Ceramic, students will learn about clay varieties and applications and use slab rolling techniques to build their sculpture base from porcelain clay.
- Day 2: At Kulak Ceramic, students will use hand-building techniques to finish the sculpture.

The instructor will provide guidance during the individual practice.
- Day 5: At Paint:lab, students will create a still life of their sculpt from week one using their lighting box and sculpt with graphite pencils.

Summer Art Camp for Teens
Please note: All students must sign up in advance for classes, camps, or workshops โ No walk-ins.
Our Summer Teen Program runs Monday-Thursday 4-6pm.
The program is oriented around finishing a piece of the students’ individual design in a medium of their choosing. During each session, an instructor will demonstrate technique using a specific medium for 30 minutes, followed by 90 minutes of individual practice guided by the instructor.
Because we understand the unique nature of adolescence, our teen workshops are open and very free-form. For the less inspired student, we advise creating a piece in the medium demonstrated! This way, the nature of the demonstration can be developed with immediate practice. Reference material will be provided.
Demonstrations include work with mediums such as graphite drawing, charcoal drawing, oil & soft pastel, inking, colored pencil, acrylic painting, oil painting, watercolor painting, and collage. Lessons will include a breakdown of the medium and a demonstration practicing techniques oriented around that specific medium (ranging from drawing skills including line, shape, form & volume, composition & perspective: and painting skills such as color mixing/color matching/understanding color wheel, composition/negative space/defining shadow & light, brush technique/blending/color blocking)
All materials included!
Single Session 4-6pm : 65$
Full Week (Mon-Thurs 4-6pm) : 250$
